I was lucky enough to pick up my MkII Axxe (Orange / Black) for £40 from a guy in work. It's ideal for the keyboardist who wishes to take their first step into the world of Analogue synthesis. With straightforward controls coupled with features like Portamento and Sample and Hold, relatively complex sounds can be produced quickly and easily. Expansion comes in the form of ARP's Little Brother unit to add a second VCO to enrich the sound. External Audio Input also allows the user to modify signals fed into the keyboard via the filter. I love it !

G.Roberts has the Axxe summed up, it is a great cheap way of getting THE ARP sound. All Axxes have CV and Gate so no problems there. It has mixable waveforms and mixable LFO waveforms not present on the Odyssey and the pitch bend knob goes +/- 1 Octave to give the machine a NINE octave span from its own keyboard. Nice wood too, not bad for $100.

Well, I've had the good fortune to have owned a 2600, Odyssey and recently an Axxe.
For anyone who wants to get the ARP sound, then i'd recommend the Axxe. It's
one of the best value for money mono's around. It only has one oscillator (plus a sub), but for some
reason (which I can't fathom) it sounds as big as the Odyssey does! This is an extremely hot machine (watch the output to your mixer). Wish I had'nt sold mine. :-)
