A fun little unit. Good for programming simple patterns. Be careful not to over-estimate its abilities. This is no thundering analogue god-synth! It's purely for fun and simple riffs. Stick a set of batteries in it, attach some phones and tap out some ideas. That's about it. Don't expect complex anything, just fun. The sounds are not powerful, so don't expect 808 stuff. Good build quality, though I have seen many drowned in battery acid. The pads are especially effected by this. They rot away and the thing's dead. I also think it's beter than the 606 which is an especially cheap product that time, use and wear in not kind to! I've got a 110 next to a dr-220 which sinks it without trace in every way. For some odd reason these seem to be less valued. I just can't see it! analogue makes fools of us all!!

let me tell this machine kicks major ass i love the tr606 but this baby is pure hip-hip and hip-hip hop not bad for a square jewish guy who only does electro pop. more solid hits than the tr606 it even does tempo changes for 33dollars!

This is a fantastic little box,it is so easy to use that i have not even looked at the manual for it.Very nice user interface and programming style. The sounds are cool, all of them are cool, the bass drum is cool when you compress it and eq it as I have had some very respectable ooomphs out of it,the snare is very similar to the tr606,hats are great and again are 606ish in nature, handclaps are excellent, cymbal sound is ok and can be used for adding extra shuffle to the drum pattern providing you use it at low volume level. The hats on this really groove when you place closed hats and open hats on the same beat, also add accent. These are so cheap in price that you really should have one, dont sample it and get rid keep it because they are so cheap its silly,I cannot understand why they are cheap.I would not have this as my only drum machine and you aint goona write a dance floor grinder with this as the bass drum is no 909 but its definitely worh having it in your sonic arsenal. Also the mod is available to add din sync which looks quite easy to do.Will be doing the mod I think so it can make analog love to my 909 and 808. All in all a sexy drum machine that will fit in your pocket and allow you to make beats anywhere as it runs off batteries aswell.5 out of 5 for price and features for money.

What a great little box it is. A lot cheaper than similar 808 (minus toms ,conga,no cowbel or rim) but compact with matrix programmer, probably faster to program than its big brother. Hihats are identical to tr606, kick is better than 606. Also balance mix between bd snare and hihats. Typical price around 60 USD but getting very rare, if you see it buy it at even more than 60,you won't be dissapointed.

I remember this, I had one in the late 80's. I did a cpl of mods to it to vary the pitch on the output, the other thing which current users might find useful was, I used to double up the tempo and space out the sequence so I could fit in some nice 1/2 beats :)
