Ah the DR220. 'Twas the first piece of gear I ever owned, and has a soft spot in my heart. The best thing about this machine, is how it looks. "James Bond" is how a friend once put it.
I won't lie, its a piece of crap. Doesnt even keep the right BPM! But put it through a LOT of distortion and delays and you can get it to sound pretty evil.
Fun for kids, thats about it.

I purchased a used unit (cheaper) yesterday and I very appreciate it. The sounds are good (remembering the '80s), it is very easy to use and it is portable. The material of manufacturing is very strong.

I have the Dr 220A and I have to say this bad boy is fun, a frined of mine got it a pawn shop for 5 bucks..no ps..it didn't work so he gave it to me, to my suprise it works somewhat, something awful must have happened to this poor thing cause all the sounds are horribly distorted, which is great, the toms took a few days to start working now they make the best happyhardcore bass drum sounds and the crash rocks..soon i will put up samples of it on my site check em out they rock...anyways if you hate the sound pour some water on it or something or circuit bend it, it could quite fun, i give mine a 5 cause it has soul of it's own
