since the case is pretty sturdy, it is mostly due to the piezo transducer that is glued to the bottom of the pad if these things stop working properly. either substitue it, or carefully glue it back to the surface...

I have a Boss Dr Pad that has quit working,Can anyone fix it?

Great sounds and the pitch sensitivity is awesome however they should only be used for studio recordings they are not built tough enough for repetitive use in a live band they quickly lose their sensitivity and then poop out I own four useless Dr. Pads advice for repair would be greatly appreciated

if you like the eighties you'll like this. cool snares and "tambourine", good for some industrial-it sounds like you're hitting somethiong metal...hand clap can gth. the cymbal sounds good, can be realistic if you set the pitch up. also has timpani. some interesting effects can be produced by turning the pitch and pitch sens. down as well as setting the decay and time all the way up. then starting with the range up hit the pad and tweak the knob back around halfway. large black velocity sensitive pad. small min. sens. knob on the back for adjusting the sensitivity. also the pitch sens. knob makes it so if you hit it soft you get one noise, if you hit it hard you get another. lots of range of notes. has mix in and trig. in, though the latter is rather shifty... 1/4 inch output and a master level knob as well. also has a 9 volt out for rigging multiple units from one power supply. pretty decent over all, i think it sounds great. not really for techno, but running it through some distortion really makes for some interesting drum sounds. pic at: http://www.drummachine.com/dmmpict/drp1_f.jpg
