This is a advance keyboard.I have used it a lot as a MIDI KEYB.Basically it is an auto-accompaniment keyboard with 220 sounds & 110 styles. The sound & styles are usable at the price range.4-part multi-timbality is though very limited. But at least you would not be left stranded. You can connect it to other midi gear.

Very disappointed. Most of the good features are heavily outweighed by the lack of reality on a condsiderable number of the voices. It would apper as if they were someone's impression of what an instrument sounds like rather than a true rendering. " Say!... what does that sound like?", "not really sure... could be a saxaphone?", "OK, lets call it a sax...! " I have played the full range of saxaphones for over 40 years, the clarinet for longer and the vibraphone / organ on and off. The vibraphone on the 680 is pathetic, more like a dulcimore! and the saxaphone timbre would put me off the instument for life! Ther are other voices that are equally 'untrue' to the imitated instrument but I do not feel qualified to pass comment on these. This is a great pity because there are some very good representations on other voices and in general the instrument has an excellent feel to it and a well balanced sound overall. Maybe I expect too much, but then my 15 year old 'Yxxxx' model got the sounds right and I would have expected Casio to have made it sound like a toy with the advance in technology.
