This is my first (and only) keyboard. I've heard other instruments in this price range, and I must say I couln't have done better. Piano patches are very good, church organ is excellent and Eng. horn is my favourite. I didn't try to design my own sounds yet. Sequencer is real helpfull for me, as I'm practicing playing. I can record myself playing and then hear mistakes clearly. Everything is easy to control. Good product.

This keyboard was the first 'real' keyboard I bought. I remember when I first saw it in Best Buy and started to arrange songs with the onboard sequencer I knew that I was supposed to write music dawg! It sounds really good. Lots of good voices and the GM set is really a little better than some of the higher end stuff out there. The only real weak spot is the beats. They pretty much suck!

I've just purchased the CTK/611 - the newer version with a backlit display. I am already very impressed with the samples and ease of use on this keyboard.

Connected with a good sequencer, it really shines - it also has some of the best bass samples I've heard for a while....

I have a number of keyboards of different makes and models. But I must say that casio has improved his voice quality and ranked into good line of musical products. The General Midi vocie set of CTK601 has beaten Yamaha and other products. Specially its chrous voices (Aahss,Oohss) and Orch-Hit all are great. All of the presets are digital samples of original instruments. Keyboard has fine functions and features The price is low and its look is great. It is easy to use and can easily understand Midi signals. Sequencer is not very cool but its easy to use you can even download midi songs from PC and send/receive sysex data. I think that casio must incorporate disk drive in this unit to load/save user voices and songs.
