Thomas Troast a hobbyist user from United States writes:
I have had the opportunity to play instruments ranging from a Yamaha PSR-6 to a Korg Triton LE, so I have a decent understanding of what you can get for your money. The CTK-631 has a general MIDI sound set that is pretty standard, but that is not where it shines. The real beauty in the CTK-631 lies in the built-in synthesizer, which allows you to modify the sound parameters. I have used this thing for over three years now, and i have been able to get some extremely impressive sounds out of this seemingly cheap unit. Basically, if you know how to adjust the parameters, you can get $700 sounds out of this $150 unit. For the price range, this unit is unmached in quality.

I think that the people that are down rating the CTK-631 should buy something a little more suited to their skills, proffessional interests and intended use of the machine, obviously they need something a bit more pricy and sophisticated. As a novice of sorts and far from being a rock star I have found the CTK-631 to be exeading my expectations and am more than pleased with it,for the cost what do you expect!

Rene Wilson a hobbyist user from Canada writes:
It's my first "actuall" sythasizer and ive had it for a few years now. I don't use midi and all that crap but i just play it. It has great organs and some fun drums but otherwise the drums suck.
