Grumster a professional user from UK writes:
Bought one of these on Ebay a few years ago. I love it, it's nearest cousin is the Korg Poly 800 due to its single filter. Useful re-triggering effects can be had with legato playing. "Upper Tone" has 31 waves, some change tone over time. The problem with the HZ600 is memory. It's volatile, unless you can find a rare-as-hen's-teeth RAM card - which I did - and it then becomes ALMOST an 8-note analogue polysynth with resonance AND presets! For £25! Alright it ain't no Jupiter-8 but I'll never own of them so who cares! It does square & saw waves, it does envelope & filter sweeps & MIDI too!

Great! Goes plink, goes plunk. Mess around with it and you can make it go plinkety-plunk or even weeeeeee! AND it says CASIO in biiig white letters - nice.

Seriously though, whilst it's probably more use as a spare cricket bat for the pro user, it does make some cool sounds, it's easy to program and it's fun. Most of all - it's very cheap. On a sound for £££ basis, it's better than many others.

CASIO rules!

Arthur byerly a part-time user from Great Bend, ks writes:
Weird, got this thing in a garage sale and never heard of it. Looked like a decent midi controller at the very least. Got it home and bout hit it with a hammer cause of the REALLY crap presets. Got into programming with the data wheel and to my suprise, it flat out does a tb-303. Only Casio hybrid made, and I thinks it is rare cause you dont find these all that often. You'll find it cheap priced, and beleive me its worth it just for the 303's, and does more!! Looks almost exactly like an Alpha-juno and programs exactly like one.

richard byerly a part-time user from usa writes:
bought one off of ebay for 75$most presets are cheezy, but after screwing with the dreaded data wheel,i got some half decent moogish, arpish, and some decent vocal sounds.this unit would kill if it had 2 oscillators.for what i paid,i think i got my money's worth.
