How can you not love this little thing? It's beady little white circular eyes on the one key play pads. The Demo is worth the price of admission alone!!!! Always a good ice breaker is the "da da da" beat (rock-1 rythm). Even a calculator! I found this in my grandfathers closet when I was a kid and played it all the time when I visited, and you know what...I honestly don't think it has EVER needed a batter change! Go ahead, run your finger up and down the keys rapidly while flicking through the sounds and tell me it ain't a little cool.

I never heard of the pocket version... but mine's still going strong after 16 years.
The German Folk Song Demo mode is the best synth demo I've ever heard.;-)

It's really amazing synth (Is it a Synth? :p ) Lovely preset sounds and you can program your own with ADSR. Real time and Step Recording capability. Waw.. What made Casio put this features in my hubby. I got it when I was 9 yrs. It gave me music inspiration. I'm entering Synth world since I got VL-1. Thanks to my family and CASIO. I love you so much.

Some bastard stole mine, so I'm on the lookout for another one. Anyway, put it thru any effects pedals eg delay (analogue if poss, the grainier the better) - and it sounds fab. Early Teardrop Explodes!
