So cheesy, it's endearing. Surprising little features like portamento and

vibrato available simultaneously. Can use sample as "rhythm." Lighten up!

It's meant to be a toy, and it's a very fun one! Love to run mine through

my Synthi AKS...5/5 for PHUN!

yes yes. my opinion of this synth is that it is probably the best samplers ever.

affordable, at 80 swedish kronor or 11-12$, and a with nice interface and the most

system controlled evil drum kit ever heard, it makes it a most brilliant synth for

aswell the pro or the amateur musician. the sampler function itself is worth

mentioning because of the high quality of the sound and the glorious size of

the memory. also an ideal machine to produce d´n´b or gabber with.

This is such a great thing !!

It's so great i even dedicated a page just for the sk-1 the adress is:

people.a2000.nl/jdegans/casio_sk-1.htm (listen to the realaudiofile !!)

The sound quality is so bad it sounds good....

I even found a way to trigger it in my midi setup and made a track with the

disco loop.

It was also my first keyboard and I'd like to add two technical remarks to Zmaja's ones :

the SK1 has one audio output and a third sound generation source (harmonic synthesis).

The harmonic synthesis module can sound great with distortion (especially in solo mode).

This synth is also very good to make Lo-Fi loops, especially when you play octaves (drums patterns

can sound very cool).

I also use it to create techno bass sounds by connecting an electric guitar in the Mic jack.

This synth, because of it's ease of use can be very inspiring.

Indeed, if you like Hi-Fi realistic sounds, you will hate this synth, but if you like destroy sounds,

try to get one.

The SK1 is a great instrument. What can I say, the sampler is absolutly amazing...a wondrous

feat of science. I recommend this keybpard to any musician trying to get that elusive

first record deal. With the SK1 in hand, YOU WILL conquer the world, YOU WILL win

a grammy, and YOU WILL be the next superstar. Buy this keyboard now, because it rules.

You can do so much with the SK1 and this is the only keyboard you will ever need.

Forget about any product from Roland, Akai, Clavia, EMU, instead, head on over to your nearest CASIO

(the world leader in keyboards) dealership and buy the SK1. You'll be a one man band. A virtuoso...
