This is the most inspiring synth ever!!! You can do almost any kind of sound = analog fat sounds to digital on it just tweaking some knobs!

It is so easy to use and you can see how sounds are made just look at the knobs!

Listen to the Nordlead 3 and you know!

Here is a link to Dan Lind making some wonderful music on the NL3! http://home.swipnet.se/synth/

Well after spending a little time with the Nord Lead III it didn`t take me long to understand that the Nord is alot better than the Super Nova II.

So I made the trade.

I agree that the filters are not quite as strong as the Virus. Although yes the overall sound is the best of the new VA`s.

I also like that modern look of the leds circled around each rotar knob!

I`ll make another review after I know it well.

The filter of the NL3 is for sure not as biting as the one on the Virus, but the Virus has ONLY its filter to sound good, thats why you hear them on every preset.

In comparison of the raw sound, the NL3(2) sounds the best of all new VAs. Get a decent FX-unit to the NL3 and youll have teh best VA so far. The NL3 for sure does not sound as dirty as the NL2...its softer, but still has that typcial cut clear NordLead sound, which we all love so much. Its a synth with character. And the interface is just fantastic!

This is a great all around synth. It can do just about anything one could want it to do. Unfortunately it doesn't have an input, but I find that there's really no reason if one has decent filters/LFOs elsewhere. The filter is a little thin in comparison to other VA's on the market like Access' Virus or even cheaper synths like Korg's MS-2000. I'm quite happy with it's 4 operator FM synthesis, but if you want to do FM buy a Yamaha DX200. The Nord Lead 3 doesn't have any effects on board except for distortion, but if you've got an external effects processor why do you need effects in your synth? If you've got the money buy it, if you don't, get an MS-2000 or a Novation K Station.

This synth is like a chameleon (sorry if my spelling is bad?) From hard hitting and totally digitally sounds to analog heat and organic sounds! This is a dream to use and I am not going to sell it ever!
