hello, read mostly all these reviews; what surprised me more is to read that nord rack2 sounds thin or less analogue respect a waldorf q or micro q......what???????
REMEMBER that the nord lines has NO effects, all the sounds go out from the dsp engine, oscillators; if you try the good waldorf q or access virus, these have the sounds that are so effected, so full of flanger, reverbs, and other things....try to think to take off all that fx to a virus or a q, and the power of the nord rack 2 will be brighter in your mind;
i like the Q, it's really awesome sounding, ..but it's all but NOT fat!!! it's the waldorf bright metallic and sometimes warm sounding applied to v-analogue, but nothing to do with nord lead; the virus can came closer, but it's too effected to be compared, for me really less powerful than the nord rack2;
the nord has so powerful filters that you'll obtain so many sounds just from an organ preset only twisting knobs;
about the thin sound, well, probably you were impressed by the FM engine synthesis, that can transform every sound in thinny bells, butit's a really FAT unit, in my opinio the most PURE FAT unit on the market just for the fact that it's all in his engines and no effectc are involved.
