Well, I've had the JP-8000, the AN1x but I must say that my new(to me) Nord Lead I kicks both of them in the A**. The others I mentioned are excellent synths but the Nord is just so amazing. It sounds in your face analog with no effects to screw that up. I'm sure with a nice analogue Chorus or delay it would really rock but I haven't tried that yet. I have a Micro Modular as well and it makes a great combo. I wonder what the Swedish geniuses are up to this year. Let's hope it's something cool. I'd give this synth a ten out of ten(if I could) despite it's few drawbacks. After all it was the first of it's kind, wasn't it? Long Live Clavia!!!

It sounds very good! However, the presets are not so good, but it doesn't take long to make a killer sound of the presets! Turn the cutoff here, squeze the resconance there and TADA - you got yourself a rave-techno-goa-dance type of sound. To bad it hasn't got any internal effects, like AN1x.

Well, I have to admit that this little thing is fantastic. If you have the
money you just have to buy the Nordlead 1. I also tested the Nordlead 2 but I
think the Nordlead 2 sounds better. So if you have money and have to choose buy the
Nordlead 1 (cheaper).
