An elephant coming trough in the woods of sounds, terrific sophisticated... although, don't look inside... you be pretty disappointed if you see how empty this peace of equipment is against the high cost you'll be charged. also a negative point is the owners manual... It is the classic "what it can do" while one is fighting to find out the the manual "how to do it"..... but if you get trough this....hide your ears: fat sound are driving you up the wall!!!!

I started in March this year to play techno/acid. The first synth I bought,

was a Roland jd800, but I "missed" something. In mid April I bought a nord Lead4

With no regret what so ever. I must say that "the little red box" amazed me!

Never before had I heard such a "ass kicking" synth (exept the TB303,

if you can compare them?)I´m really glad I bought the Nord Lead, and I´m not gonna get rid of it,

before I die. The only bad thing about the Nord Lead is the price, but I was lucky to get a new one

for "only" 11000 dkr! Keep up the good work guy´s. Sincerly yours

Thomas Schreiber

One aspect of this synth that many people may overlook is the incredible ease at which you can assign multi MIDI channels to the NORD and it's sounds. Being that many digital synths make a complete nightmare out of multi-setups, the NORDs way of dealing with this is by far the most straghtforward and easy to deal with of any piece of MIDI gear I own. You can flip through configurations while in playback, giving you the ability to "construct" your multi, with it's different sounds while the sequence is going. This "auditioning" of various new sounds during playback is invaluable - and can lead to great combinations that you would have never had the time or inclination to come up with before hand. - Awesome.
