This is why I hate the AWE64 and think it should never have replaced the AWE32:

The AWE64 uses "special" ram, much more expensive than the regular 30 pin simms

the AWE32 used. The AWE64 has no daughter card support, so I could not attach

my really cool Yamaha XG card. The AWE64 creaks and spits a lot more, especially

when you use their "multimedia kit." Whoever re-designed the AWE64 kinda went

backwards in my opinion. But the AWE32 absolutely rules.

Think about it.... the card costs about $200 first of all. For that price, I think the gold card is pretty impressive. Not only that, to this date only Creative Labs sound cards can be used with Seer System's Reality. I have the program and I think they show what the gold card can do. I mean, the sounds aren't pro professional sounding, but suitable for someone with a little home studio and a love for creating music. I know there are better cards out there than the gold card, but for the price it can't be beat.

I think that the AWE64 soundcard is one of the best. It is a bit expensive, but for a soundcard like that, it's worth it. I got one myself (with 28Mb RAM), and it sounds like heaven. That's it.

The SB64 was a big upset. It is no more than a SB32 with more ROM. The noise floor and fidelity are still of questionable quality for any sort of pro use. It's amazing at what marketing can do with product hype.

I've tried out almost everything, but my 64Gold is not able to work in full-duplex vith Cubasis. Noise is considerable, Soundfonts can be defined through a very complex path. I guess I could have spent my money better!
