A not that flexible synth, but with a lovely 'soft' and smooth sound. Use it for pads en leads, bassline's aren't his cup of tea. It seems to react a little too slow, doesn't sound 'punchy', like an (Alpha) Juno, which are in the same second hand price league. Could be that the envelope generator is a slow guy. Lowpass filter sounds very useable. And it's easy to program, yes it is. Sawn for prices below �100,- it's a must have, not many people know the potential of the Bit for making very sweet sounding soundscapes. Add a touch of reverb (externaly), and you're in busness!

Wonderful machine. I've had it from new, bought in mid 80's from a Dealer in Birmingham as my first synth. Soon after bought an Atari STFM just to play it with. Great FAT sounds, polyphony now a little limited. Good keyboard. Programming is not helped by the 'klicky' buttons on the thing but there is plenty of versatility to make a wide range of 'Analogue' sounding noises from what is basically a digital synth. Shame it never really took off. The Yamaha DX7 came out at about the same time.

My first ever keyboard - I can recall dreaming about owning one when I first set eyes on it sixteen years ago in a shop window, before ever hearing what it sounded like. The dream certainly lived up to the reality. It had a great feel to it, with some great sounds. I stored it in the loft some years ago after loosing the sounds and damaging one or two keys. However the other day I dusted it off linking it up to a module as a controller keyboard, to discover the black bit99 is still working but desperately needs some attention. I want to get the baby back on board so if you can help me or can point me in the right direction then please please Call me today On 077143-62624 cheers!

Ooooh, what a sound! I've got a dw8000 and an emax which I both love playing with, but I'd have to say my bit99 outconquers them - in it's own wicked way. For a start it's got a great halfweighted keyboard - feels like something close to an organ. Second, the sound is warm an punchy, but it's got a hard edge to it which really make it stand out. Ok, editing ain't all that intuitive, but hey - just hook it up with Sounddiver (and a motormix, if you're lucky enough to have one), and off you go! I'm pretty sure it won't be long before these instruments achieve "vintage-status" - so if you find one now - just buy it! You won't regret!

Damn good synth (Bit01 Black and green). a bit tempremental at times (dropped midi notes), i've heard it said that the bit synths arnt that reliable. Very flexible sound routing, 2lfo able to modulate 1 area (eg VCO), invert section on filter, what a bonus, pity no ring mod tho d8( Bought for �25 broken, cost �50 to repair...bargain
