This little baby is full of suprises, synth section is very unusual and makes some trippy sounds, filter is lovely very mellow and warm sounding but turn up the reson and filter and my god it will cut concrete. As an experiment i made a peice of music using cubase sx2 and this synth and just used loads of plugins,I ended up with a boards of canada type weird hypnotic abstract analog shimmering soundscape that just needed some analog drums adding and voila, trippy hypnotic moody electronica. Get one of these machines if you see one you will not be dissapointed and they look and feel great.defo a 5 out of 5

I have just aquired a Trilogy that had a few problems with it when I first got it so I took it to james walker of synth repair services and he has totally fixed all the problems and she is like new. This is a really really nice synth I can't beleive it but it sounds absolutely like sonic mdma for your ears. You get a really great synth section that makes sounds i can't get from my other analogues sounds from sub sonic basses to atmospherics that make the hairs on your neck stand up but you have to place the sounds through delays and reverbs to get that lovely sound but the synth is great, then you can mix in the string section which with a bit of phasor sounds very very oxygene jarreish you can have the strings slowly ebbing in on a long attack whilst the synth plays, the organ is not musch to write home about but it is still useable. If you see one of these synths just buy it and use it in your creations because not many people have them, they are getting rare and I suspect they will be worth a fortune in years to come. If you want any synths repaired I can recommend you contact james walker at synthrepair email info@synthrepairservices.com. He is based in stoke in the uk but does a fantstic job,I have had Arp quadra's repaired and all other mad synths.

I have a great Trilogy synthesiser along with a load of other classic analogues and I have to say the synth section on this machine is great;you can get some great sounds out of it and when you mix in the strings section and add some external effects you can get some great emotive sounds from it. The organ section is nothing to write home about but can be useful if buried under the strings and synth section. The look of the trilogy is great and is very early oberheim in looks and its quite a big synth and weighs quite a bit.I actually like the strings sounds on it and think they stack up well to the arp quadra in a weird kinda way.Reliabilty is an issue with crumar synths (apart from the spirit synth of course)

I would not hesitate to buy another one they are great and the best way to describe the sound is organic and lush and soft although the filter on this thing with the res up will tear your head off and make your ears bleed.

a great machine and definitely worth a buy if you see one cheap.

although i don't for one second think they are worth a thousand pounds i can see in time to come they will be a collectors item and will be worth quite a bit.I still use mine in my music productions and i have sequential, arp's moogs and roland kit and it still has a place.get one.

Someone has made a comment about the price of a trilogy;1000 pounds for a Trilogy?????Are you mad???come on now get real!!!!!you can get a prophet 5 for that if you know where to look.Trilogy is a good synth and some decent sounds can be coaxed from it but come on lets get a grip here its a basic synth and is not in the same league as moogs, sequentials or rolands.
