The ONLY (and I say this, only because it's from '83) is the fact it isn't velocity responsive. For all you people asking for instruction manuals, GO TO http://WWW.CASIO.COM AND E-MAIL THEM, they will send you one for free or a nominal fee.

I've had my CZ for 10 years now, even though after several accidents it's now becoming just a little spastic. When it finally dies I'll definately buy another 1, or 3.

I consider it one of the most underrated synths ever made. The lack of reso filter is a slight bummer but can be kinda made up by putting it through a FX unit with a MIDI controlled Wah filter such as the Boss Se-70. FX definately help the CZ sound, takes some of the chunkiness from pads, strings etc. Otherwise use the Reso waves 6-8.

It kicks some ass... I found one at a local music pawn shop for $90 and was all for it. (I was always was jealous of people who find good deals at a pawn shop, but now it me.)

for the price the CZ 10XX is a great machine... cool sounds and everything... a definite must get...

I'd agree that programming can be frustrating, but the potential rewards are

great. I particularly like the bass sounds I am able to make with this machine.

It has its limitations (percussion is certainly quite crap) and the presets are

laughable, but it is not like any other synth and is hence a nice addition to

anyone's machine park.

I've had the old cz for years. It has serviced me well, but its time to move on. It is starting to die on me

Despite not being velocity sensitive, it has been cool. I programmed patches and dumped them into my computer before most

people had heard of MIDI..

Let's chat
