My band uses four of these and all but one have memory problems! Our formerly most reliable one finally crapped out. Someone said that the batteries have to be left in to retain sounds, but this wasn't necessary for us in the past. I once tried to have a tech replace the internal battery, but he couldn't find it. It seems even a memory cartridge does nothing because a faulty-memory CZ won't recognize the patches on it after a while. It's just such a pain in the ass to bulid a song around a patch and then lose it after a week or two! Does anyone have an intimate knowledge of CZ memory quirks and how to remedy them? Doesn't seem like anyone has adequately addressed this problem....

A cheap machine. Warm sounding, good for bass, pads, leads. Very easy to edit the sounds. No sub-menus. Not as raw as the DX series. This machine suits almost every kind of electronic music. The keyboard is better than it looks. DO NOT use a shoulder strap when you play.

1984. 345 english pounds worth of digital heaven wonderful string sounds with hardly any tweaking. change a wave is all it takes. Still in regular use for background textures in my tiny little studio.Pisses all over the DX7 if you can spare a little time and effort. Feargal Sharkey said he used it to write songs with while he was on the bus.Must've looked a complete twat. I also have a casio SK.1 just to prove that not everything casio touched turned to gold.

I am looking to buy one in mint condition for around $50-$80 us dollers.I will pay for it but only COD as I have cash but never bought a casio by mail from another individual. Please email me with your offers and I will grab the closest to Florida I can.By the way,CZ101 has built in lithium battery so no you do not need to leave D batteries in it to save patches.Youre thinking of KORG POLY800 first edition.

You gotta be kiddin man I borrowed one from a friend and almost thought it was a cruel joke
The sounds are as thin as plastic foil no resonant filters like having a crap preset-keyboard on which you have to make the crap presets yourself
the only good thing is midi so if you find a cheap ex you could connect it to your cheapo P166 PC and run generator 1.0 with it, or something
