Neil Elkins a hobbyist user from England writes:
Good for the money - I got mine for 40 quid. Perhaps a bit awkward to program thanks to the step-up/step-down parameter access, and it does seem to lose its memory if its been switched off for too long.

On the upside, it can stick out some tremendous clonk noises, sub basses are a piece of proverbial, and the pitch envelopes mean it can do a great over-the-top distorto boom kick. The portamento is pretty groovy, too.

Jeremiah M. Stanfill a professional user from USA writes:
This was the first "real" programmable synthesizer that I have

ever used. I do not know if this was built into the circuitry but

if the instrument was not used for about ten munutes, it would

shut itself off. I believe that the CZ101 did not have an internal

RAM battery -- it shares the power of the AA batteries that you

stuff in the thing. -- strange.

I got some what-not-to-think-of sounds out of it: a car peeling out

on wet pavement? A guitar imitating a deisel ingine? -- really.

the little knobs on the side are quite handy for a fancy little guitar

strap.

RobertW Tripp a hobbyist user from USA writes:
I just got mine for $100 used, and it's my first keyboard/synth of any kind. I have only played with it a bit , but it seems worth what I paid just to toy around with it.

I need a manual or something. The presets do pretty much BITE! I need to hook it up to my computer and see what else can be done. It sounds like this will be perfect for what I

intended, (weird noises, space sounds, etc.) and I'll post another message as soon as I'm able.

Ross Wolinsky a part time user from Chicago IL writes:
for $100 bux or in this range what more can you ask for... this thing is a bargain and a half... multitimbral, two DCO's, 16 user patch spaces, cartridge backup... the envelope is similar to using STOMPER, it's an 8 phase envelope that is really easy to use once you get the hang of it, it's tricky at first though... Noise, Ring Modulation, full MIDI implementation.. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FOR 100 BUX!!! BUY IT!!!! you're not going to get thick basses out of this but it's good for metallic techno noises and weird clangy sounds or acid sounds... not thick, metallic i'd say... for real instruments forget it, spend the extra 3,000 bux and buy a damn Korg Prophecy if you want something that sounds like real instruments.
