The evolvers are the most versatile synths I know. The distortion and the bit crusher are on the downside of these machine. The basslines often lack that direct extra bit of punch associated to many analogue synths. But you definetely can produce a speaker wobbling bass with an evolver.
The lead, pad & fx sounds are stunning. The tweakability is excellent.

This is one of the most enjoyable synths I've ever played. Its the first keyboard monosynth in aeons, and the first to put on a modern twist on those instruments. There's a much better feeling of control and 'hands on' than with just the rack, and the whole thing's both great fun and good for serious ideas. The MEK has some of the best preset sounds I've heard on any synth. This was sold out from quite a few places in the auntumn when I first tried to get one, and having played it I can see why.
