This is a gem of a sampler and synthesizer. The A/D/A converters r gem. Sound quality is , well, excellent. It comes with 9 E'mu CD-ROMs(i.e. 2 Gig of samples). The expansion options r so comprehensive(and expensive) that u can spend a life time trying to add new options. But I have a few complaints too. 1> Slight timing problem when trying to sample in sync with a sequencer track. 2> The unit hangs once in while if u r working for some time(hopefully will be resolved in the next OS version). 3> Beat munging is great a realtime loop manipulation feature, but wish I could switch of individual beats without changing the time signature. 4> Effects r often noisy and does not match the potential of rest of the unit. Overall great value for money. Buy it from Alto Music, NY(914 692 6922), u'll get it real cheap. The outputs and inputs BTW r all balanced and the headphone output is the best i've ever heard.
