I have owned 3 of these , to my mind of blows away the new models in sound quality , its IS NOT simple an old proteus 2000 or extreme lead , seriously it blows those away , thats why it was called an audity 200o as its more advanced as the others, people say all the proteus 2000 range are the same , they are not.The audity 2000 uses older components and probably better dacs , it also looks way better and i think sounds better than the new stuff.How many waveforms do you need ? what people dont say is just how amazing this synth sounds.Its a stunner and with sounddiver its fully modular and can create sounds nothing else can.

Thought I would add this,..The Audity does not have a "Rate" knob at the front of the rack, which is a bit of a bummer imo, but you can go to town with the rate in the LFO editing which does the trick, but its nice to have that knob like on my XL-1, good news is you get an "Amp Decay/resolution" in place of it, and instead of the 4 "wild" knobs you get "Resolution", "Extension", "Velocity", and "Gate", If you can live without a ROM expansion slot and a Rate knob,..The Audity 2000 sounds more analouge than Extreme Lead-1, has allot more heafty preset's to play with, especially the bass, and its way more powerfull having the same hard set up as the Proteus 2000, cheers.

Cheers, great site!, I just got an Audity 2000 loaned to me, with the full on possibly of buying it will be $400.00 Canadian, first thing I noticed is that there are loads more sounds than in my Extreme Lead-1, and there all nice and dry, this Audity OS has the originall 1.0, not the upgrade, Another major bonus is that it has all the same hardware as the Proteus 2000, big reason why I will probably grab this beast is cause I really dig the EMU Rack's, great for gettin deep sound's on the fly, And it would be nice to have a back up of most the Extreme Lead Sound's and vice versa, I also dig rare gear that gives you an edge, it use to be that everyone had the same hardware, now it's everyones got the same software, these old EMU rack's are heafty weapon's, great for any electronic music, The only hardware part that is different than the Proteus 2000 as far as i know is, the Audity runs on a battery and not a ROM,..I don't know which is better or more reliable, great synth for dnb if you can find one and get it for under $450.00 imo, cheers.

This is a sample and hold synth.Its great strenght is the modulation capabilities ,which also can be found at EMU's Proteus series synths.Other really nice points includes build quality, 3 stereo outs ,a decent FX stage,and digital out. A reasonable question might be why should I choose Audity instead of a Proteus 2000 synth? Well ,first of all there is the price factor.You can find Audity for cheap now days.Personally ,I also like very much its samples. I know that many people dont like the factory patches.One advise people.Before you judge it ,take the time to tweak it.... I had this synth, and I was stupid enough to sold it.Needless tyo say I regreted it countless times.BUT, I re bought it 10 days ago.And here is why.I was working to a song ,and tried to find some sound I like for it.Well I had no luck ,althought I have lots of synths including the Yamaha AN1X [its amazing ,fat sounding ,BUT Audity can get you really crazy stuff].At that time I wished to have my Audity there....and I was lucky to find one.And on top of it ,I only paid 200 euros for this.Now thats what I call good luck. One last note.When I sold my unit ,I got immediately the EMU Emulator X desktop sampler:even if now I have that ,there are times that I need to tweak a patch real fast.Audity is superb to get you SOUND really deep and really fast.

well as one other has said what do you do with 16 arpegiators ,,, could have midi output running external modules on differant channels if any body thinks the sounds are a bit weak and digital sounding personally some are, some are boriong but its a synth ,take the boriong ones and change them ive got piano simalarities and organ sounds easily although it is a tech box,, i like it for layering with the gems2 sounds or some of my other modules,tweak away and use the synth save through to cakewalk or cubase or whatever you use for midi platform and your there with anything pads bass ,leads and arp rythmns.not a lot in sound banks for download off the internet though surprised that the user groups dont. i like this synth but a little work is needed as with things that are complex..good box think the bugs from v.2 was corrected v2.1 havnt had any probs and i have 2 audities thats 32 arps oh well time to go
