I have 3 standard wasps (mint condition) and spare parts, a wasp deluxe (mint condition) and two spider sequencers (one switch cover missing ,...) I contacted Chris H. when he was producing the OSCAR and bought spares etc....a great synth from a great designer.....bass sounds you would die for....Also had the pleaseure of redesigning a STINGER for a well known band..after this was sorted it worked like a dream, two midi'd synths in a rack playing two different sequences at the time...mind blowing in their studio. I believe that it has been sold, if you have it then it really is a one off!

Another fine day a professional user from UK writes:
My original 1979 issue had some weird mods done by EDP- I'm not entirely sure what they did, but you get 2 extra waveform positions on the oscillators- when you use them the 'control osc'(LFO) pitch knob produces what sounds like garbled FM/ring modulation stuff that I've never heard off any other synth(or any other Wasp, come to think of it).I'm sure mine wasn't the only one to get the mod, so look out for it when checking a prospective buy. Turns a For d Model T into a Ferrari....too wicked!

Chris L a professional user from London writes:
A great bit of fun. You can make some interesting bass and leads. That's about it. About as good as a cs01 sound wise and possessing many of the same features, including a built in speaker, though the keyboard is not as good. Those touch pads wear out and can't be easily repaired, so be careful when buying. Very, very overpriced. A good piece of British synth history. Many will, and have, gone to collectors, where they belong. I've had three over the years and, although I love them to bits, I won't buy another. They weren't designed to last for ever...build quality is not great. Bits are rare and servicing difficult. A cs01 is a better option, though I suspect many will tell you otherwise.

markku immonen a hobbyist user from Helsinki, Finland writes:
Wasp was/is my first synth ever, bought as new in the 80'S.

To my suprise it still works and kicks ass like hell, though very battered indeed, plastic case seriously broken, that tune pot refuses to work etc. That keyboard(??) sucks, positively, so don't bother to play anything seriously. But to make those certain kind of noises: an absolute killer!! Don't bother to sample this thing, get a real one!! That low end is surprisingly OK, more or less, by the way...

David Meyer a part-time user from uk writes:
i've had a lot of synths over the years Analogue and digital and the bass on this one is up there with the best. Watch them cones rattle! And if tweaked in a sensitive manner it can sound really warm. I'm not using it much at present 'cos it aint got midi but I keep promising to buy a convertor. it's the Biz!
