Goto www.ucapps.de and see what YOU can do with a sid chip, and what that costs. Four pots are not enough. The idea is very original.

Its almost perfect, but one time all the patches dissapered, very anoying, but the sound is very warm and needle sharp...
To bad the sam function of the original c64 is not included, but anyway, everything can´t be perfect.

The Sidstation goes beyond making quirky noises- for me, it strikes a certain chord of emotional nostalgia. I was born in the eighties and some of the first sounds I ever heard came from the C-64 SID chip. It has a life of its own, and can sweep a person away into bliss whith only a few notes. And if you just want to make music, the 3 part mono/poly oscillators combined with the versatile analog filter, LFO's, s/h, sync, ring mod, portamento, pwm, appregiator, midi support, envelope gen and crazy 64 note sequencer can produce some wicked bass, leads and pads. I love my Sidstation.
