i dont see how price can be an issue here, this thing is almost surely the best drum SYNTH ever built. i think the jomox stuff is grossly overpriced, and people are still paying 1400 for their 909s, but the machine drum is something entirely different. to judge a machine by its price is i am sorry, a very ignorant thing. yes it costs a bit more than the competition.... no, wait.. im sorry, there is no competition. the machinedrum is in a league of its own.. anyway, like i was saying... it costs a bit more, but it does a lot more too... you definately get what you pay for.. sturdy as hell construction, excellent sound and excellent programmibility.. this box deserves better than a 5

machinedrum

I received the machinedrum within 24 hrs of ordering and have had it for about a week..

first impressions...build quality superb , this device is constructed with a stainless steel chassis and is well designed . the lcd display is informative and well illuminated . the buttons and controls are firm and positive . the leds let you know exacly whats going on with regard to tempo and step position .the unit is sturdy and instills confidence in the user . the sounds are superb and totally "tweakable" with the ability to change every single recorded note and even morph between them ( slide ). the lfo routing is mind-boggling not to mention the sixteen sequencer tracks with a pallette of 40 machines , not just percussion , deep basses , stretched and warped electronica ,this machine is a dream to use , straight forward and intelligently conceived . I have been waiting a long time for something like this to appear...it is ( in my humble opinion ) the best instrument I have used for the kind of music I compose ( techno ) " it is pure techno "...bye bye roland yamaha and korg - your " bedroom dj " products with their "go faster stripes " look cheap and sound pathetic compared to this marvellously engineered instrument...

expensive ? you get what you pay for ( and more ) as far as I am concerned .

I wish electron every success with the machinedrum - they deserve it...

I also own a MD and love it. It is indeed expensive, but that's exactly how it sounds as well. No softsynth right now comes close. I'm a software freak myself and sold all my samplers 'cause I only use EXS24 and DR008, but there are some things software just can't do... and that's exactly where the MD shines!

just got one last night, got it for a good price too, and basically almost missed work today cause i was up all night with it... this is amazing.. ive never really been into drum machines, preffering to use my sampler because of the poor sounds of most drum machines.. but this will solve almost all of my percussion problems. Ive only had a quick play about with it, but the diversity of sounds you can get from it are really special. Not something that will outlive itself quickly...

i don't even need to say much about it, just read the countless reviews. not one bad. had it since day one, this box carries the punch of a 909 but does it in new, fresh and funky way. this is a very sexy box and i'm going to get my second one as soon as i can afford it. the only "truely" portable device.. i carry it with me in a hard shell and hook it up every where i go. it's more than just a drum machine, and if this is elektrons 909.. i'm scared to think of what their 808 will be like. personally i'd like to see a sister unit for synths & efx... heh. get one or two, that's my call.
