I bought a emax2 in 1992 for F5600,..what??!!... (that much)...no no ,i sold a ensoniq eps..to buy the emax 2.(EPS was crap, the knobs fell off) I still use my Emax 2 ,also as a masterkeyboard. But i must say that it sounds terrific, very dynamic..I dont do drums with it,mainly strings and weird noises.

Prodcut a professional user from Commonwealth of Dominica writes:
The EmaxII was a machine I bought in '94. And I still have it. At the time developers concentrated on the best sampling quality possible at that time and made the interface simple and straightforward without a fancy (ok, not too functional) graphic interface which suppressed the cost drastically. That was Emu's foremost aim. To bring a high class sampler available to a wide range of experimentalists ready to pay the buck for it.

A big '5' except for the lack of crisp clear playback of samples.

i got one at $1000 in 96 but it worn out very quick, due to the i/o board problem,it sounded warm even though it's got no analog filter like the mk1.the floppy drive is slow and dated.and heavy too.i tried to buy the new emu like e5000/6400 but ppl said its worse than the old emu.actually i love the old emu sound but afraid of its reliabilty.

The Emax II is a wonderfully easy to use sampler, with a good sound. It a good way of getting into quality sampling at a low price.

For information on memory expansion and upgrades, manuals, sample diskettes and CDROM's come visit our web site. We stock Emax II CDROM's and replacement floppy dives at a low price.

Because of the sound I will give it 4 stars... What sucks, is manual and small display, but othervise... I use Alchemy soft to download samples To Emax via, which quite slow
