I've been sobbing and drooling after this for about 4 years, the last 3 years I've started saving... Incredible, they're still making these with custom mods! And, believe it or not, my oscillators are stable as hell. The obvious setbacks of only having 1 filter and 1 envelope shaper disintegrate into nothing after having really gotten in touch with it. I've now only had it for about 4 months, but would never ever part with it for anything. Just these matrix/volume knobs mods Arnold mentioned sound really interesting...

My advice if you're hesitating: pay these 1000's of bucks for a new one with stable oscs instead of trying to dig out an old one for just a few 100's less cash - it's worth it. Don't get a golden child with only one working leg...

i bought it at the age of 17 in 1976 after 3 hard year of sparing. And i'm still using it - just so fantastic and fascinating... (one usefull mod: wire the matrix pins to volume pots in order to dose their amount of modulation).

Chris a hobbyist user from France writes:
I found one of these mega rare synths from a second hand Shop at a pretty high price..It is the price to pay for a neat(I insist)instrument, with lots of added chrome switches (10!) and inverted pins circuits (4 of them). Mods were clearly disigned to enhance special effects shaping and noises. Incredible custom sounds come out from it. If there is one synth I ever have to keep among others I already own, this is the one, without hesitate a second. It is so warm (check out The Dark side of the Moon from Pink Floyd) agressive and plenty of dynamics; you quickly forget about osc unstability (that can be stablised for reasonable expense..). No other synth comes close.

It took me 2 years to come across a clean one, looking after it everywhere could, every day. I can not be more satisfied.

Larry Brown a hobbyist user from HOUSTON TX USA writes:
Hey, I've seen one of these! Back in the mid 80s when you could barely give away a mono-phonic analog synth, a local guy had one for sale. I imagine the price was in the $300 (USA) range. It didn't even look interesting to me. It looked like a toy, with a touch sensitive keyboard that would render it mostly useless for making music since I wasn't hip on interfacing at the time, and anyway that would have been my only synth. To my American eyes this thing was unfamiliar and I didn't recognize or understand it at all. I passed it up without remorse. Obviously, somebody slap me.

Thinking back to that "golden age" of give away synths, I get suicidal thinking of all the deals I passed up and at some of the stuff I gave away for pennies, and counted myself lucky at that.
