Carnaval has some pretty good latin sounds and beats, but is limited when compared to the newer stuff.

the Dudes below are all correct! The Planet Earth wipes the floor with the Carnaval. Do NOT buy the Carnaval. Waste of money. DO buy the Planet Earth. Its the real deal.

yeah the carnival does suck bad compared to what you get in the planet earth. there is no comparison really in the sense that the planet earth gives you like 1000 times more to work with and the carnival gets really old really fast. the previous reviews are correct. if you want ethnic, get planet earth and forget this ugly carnivore thang..read latin cheese factory

Very disappointed and I usually love emu stuff. Sold mine and I got the Planet Earth new for like $10 more than I got for my carnaval "used" WOW---I love the Planet Earth!! This is what I wanted. Carnaval was not IT at all. Avoid!!

I got it at a good price and used the heck out of it. IT adds that latin flavor...and works well with many non- latin pieces as well such and hip-hop and urban dance, trance, ect. However it takes a lot of skil to use them up to it fullest and not get tired fo latin patches. Likes: feel, Sound quality, beats mode, great filters, similar to all other E-MUs. Dislikes: the lack of editing in the beats mode,
