This unit is a rompler????????? My GOD they never used to make romplers that sounded like THIS!
Let me give it to you straight. This synthesizer sounds like an incredible moog polyphonic or mono fully analog synth with the amazing moog filter and envelope filters and playability, all with optional beautiful touch sensitivity and aftertouch. Wait, let's create a different patch. Now this synthesizer sounds like the best AM synth Kawai every built (such as the K5000) with ongoing fascinating endlessly beautiful mezmerizingly complex creations. Well ok, not quite as amazing as a really great AM synth, but pretty damn close. Now let's create another different patch. WAIT - it's an one of the best rom-based sample playback synths there could be, with beautiful synthesizer control of already gorgeous sounding recordings of everything from classical instruments to insects. Ok, let's create another different patch, now this synthesizer is one of the most exciting drum synthesizers you can get, complete with amazing sequenced pattern playback that can control any patch in the machine or ones from your imagination.
Ok, so the orbit V2 is simply the best single space rack synth I've ever used in my life. I have some great double space units (And bigger), but I have never owned a single space unit that was this good. Also, it does analog as well as most analog gear does, with that huge analog tone. great filters, great oscillators (even if they are sample playback based, the way this unit works they are basically working as perfect oscillators), great touch response, great tone, great amps. With this unit I can do moog better than I can with my moog. Why? it sounds every bit as good and stays in tune when my moog is drifting. Sorry, but if someone thinks it's cute and warm and authentic to have an out of tune instrument then go tell that to Jimi Hendrix who HATED how his strat's trem bridges couldn't stay in tune after a dive bomb.
