This P2500 is way under-rated. with 2.0 os it does everthing a command station will do but it looks gorgeous instead of the ugly yellow and violet colored ones. The sequencer is a sheer delight. I think this one will be discovered eventually. Very sweet and sophisticated sequencer. Very intuitive to use.

I have this module for about a month now, and it fits in quite well with my other gear. This module is very good as additional gear, but not stand alone. Some of the lead sounds are kind of rough, but by tweaking the knobs you can dial in the exact sound you want. I think the one thing this module lacks is a floppy drive, or smart media storage. There are a lot of user patch storage, but I would have loved to have some way to back up those patches-without a computer.

I have played with one extensively and it is a fun device to fool around with. I would not want to try to do anything too complex with the sequencer though for the same reasons mentioned below. It IS fun to play with and it looks a whole lot better than the other command stations (yellow and purple puke). I would not buy one simply because for me its easier to use external dedicated sequencers than an all in one device.

Im not really impressed with this sequencer. It seems to be full of bugs and not all that. Same with the XL-7 / MP-7 set up but in rack version. Please disagree with me if you will, but I feel that this P2500 sequencer is lacking somewhat. I hear people talking about the "sounds" of this machine, hey the sounds are irrelevant since you can switch ROMs or add Roms. What is relevant is the sequencer. I wish it was mo betta. I love my QY700 and will continue using it for sequencing. The P2500 will be sold soon on the auction block. EMU really shines in the ROM department, but when it comes to sequencing, Im afraid that Yamaha wipes the floor with emu. oh well.
