my command station crashed one day, ever since then whenever i turn it on i get the same error message "ERR: DRAM failed Continue?" every single led lights up and i cant seem to to get it to continue
if anyone has any suggestions on how how to fix thisplease let me know im seriously suffering without my command station

I consider this box a steal. You just starting out? Don't have alot of cash to drop? For the price you are more than getting some serious bang for your buck. The box is off the chart. You want to be a producer? A serious contender? As soon as you can add a midi keyboard, a computer w/ necessary software, a good set of studio quality monitors/headphones, etc. What you now have is a viable pre production setup on your hands. Great for beginners, murder on the competion if you have any talent and/or experience. Book? What book? I'm not trying to insult anyone but how much easier could it be? Any easier than this, then it would be creating music for you! Play with this thing. It is extremely intuitive. What is this technical drivel about the sounds? Yeah, yeah, some sounds sound better in different octaves than others, thats on you! Instantly adjust the velocity with a twist of a knob! They are painstakingly recorded by some of the finest engineers in the game. I haven't added any ROM's and I still haven't used them all and none of my stuff sounds the same. I created my own unique sound sets in this thing within the user banks. You don't like the easy to use sequencer? Mix accordingly then try direct recording right off of a pattern into a hard disk recorder while realtime sequencing. Put the effects in later if you know what you are doing. You can assign a different effect to each channel with a twist of a knob. I'm telling you by the time you click your mouse, open up your programs, arrange your sound pallete, etc I will be doing overdubs already. Put this thing in a rack, later when your rig has evolved. It's my best kept secret.

The XL-7 is an amazing machine. If you have OS 2.0 there are major improvements over the original OS. The sequencer is very tight and is one of the easiest I have ever operated, and Ive worked with many over the years. The whole ROM (or flash rom) deal is not hard. You simply pop the hood and put one in. You can use one of the many proteus 2000 ROMs or you can also use the Flash ROMs that you can author yourself on your Ultra series sampler. Quite nice! Takes 5 minutes. These are real performer's dream machines. Very capable.

are U sure about that? i got mine for 1 year now,used for gigs exclusively but i'd buy a flashram if i had not to open the box each time i wanna change a preset...
