Awesome sound quality, a amazing sequencer, and very good interface.

The only problem which is the reason I don't give this 5/5 points is the bugs in the OS. I've had a lot of problems.

Sometimes the step sequencer in "song mode" have done strange things that I know was not my fault. Also the machine have totally crashed once (I've had it in less than a week, and one crash already...) Nothing happened no matter what button I pressed or knob I turned. I've seen more bugs, and I just hope they will be fixed. Also the performance has to be a lot better when new patterns arrives in song mode.

I believe all this things can be fixed in new operating systems, but until then, it will get 3/5. Without the bugs it would be 5/5 with no doubt.

XL-7 seems to be what I've been waiting for. My MC505 has too few tracks (8), and its filter sounds fake. My RM1X has too little synth editing (although you can layer tones and use different LFO rates on each tone to generate weirdness), and the grid recording mode is a tad restrictive.

XL-7, on the other hand, has 32 MIDI tracks, loads of editing options, and lets you slip in and out of real-time OR grid recording without stopping the sequencer. Perfect for building a new pattern out of nothing in a live show.

Takes some work, but mastering this system is worth it. Add a sampler and a keyboard controller to compensate for the XL-7's stiff drum pads and you're set.
