This unit is basically the bottom of the top line of emu samplers. not expandable in the areas of outputs or fx cards but this is still one hell of a sampler. expandable to 64 meg of ram (for emu this is about 6 + min of stereo sampling @ 44.1k), and quite capable of utilizing the intense pallates of onborad dsp that makes emu samplers grand pianos among electric guitars. if you are intersted in emu samplers, but would like to maintain a tighter budget, any other emu sampler is a fine choice. this company deffinetely has a tendancy to manufactaure samplers that will repersent the sounds in a very musical way that no other samplers seem to be able to match.
