This beast is one of the best samplers ever made. Though it's a bit limited on it's Ram, considering new samplers and their memory, it's filters and backside analogue architecture make it one of the most powerful sounding ever. Sure, I love my AKAI S2000 and it's crystal clean reproduction of sound, but for those other worldly and thunderous sounds, the EIII destroys anything out there. The only negative thing I have to say is about the EIII is that it can be touchy, needing servicing more often than many other samplers. Sampler technology hasn't evolved all that much since the late eighties. The technology has just become more affordable to the masses. To bad the glory days seem to be over. I'm still waiting for the next revolution, but with the EIII, at least you can relive a revolution when samplers were huge, powerful, and elitist.

I've recently purchased a used EIII rack mount and so far I love it. The sound
is amazing. However, this is not a very friendly beast to learn how to use. Is
there a manual available for this machine other than the "Reference Manual"?
