I thought musicians "friend" did refunds? 30 days or something? $70 for shipping? good god!! I shipped a DX7 once with UPS(30-35lbs.?) for like $30. this was less than a year ago. I saw this fizmo thing a couple days ago. I couldn't even figure out how to change to a different preset. the one it was stuck on sounded stupid. all the controls are confusing and don't seem to really do anything. about the only thing it has going for it is it's made in America("it matters to me") and the case seems pretty heavy duty. but that ain't enough these days. what the hell was ensoniq thinking? why can't they just make a normal, useful poly analog, no presets, no midi ala juno 6? the AN1x looks even more attractive after "playing" this shithesizer. whew!!!

I AM VERY PISSSED. I do not like this machine and the keys feel like im playing a Pratt-Reed keyboard. UNACCEPTABLE. The sound is horrendous. But the worst thing that I am mad about is that Musicians Friend said that "since this is a heavy item we do not use UPS . We must ship it by truck which will take 7-10 days and will cost an extra 70 dollars." THAT IS F**KING RIDICULOUS. The thing weighs 24 lbs. Anyways , to check the scam factor (after the sorry fact that I bought it which is too late anyways) I called back and confirmed the extra $70 shipping for the Fizmo and then said "Ok , now I would like to buy a Triton. Please tell me the price and how much for shipping. He stated the price and said shipping is regular". So I then said "Ok , I want to talk to your manager. The Triton weighs twice as much as the Fizmo yet you are charging me 70 bucks to ship the Fizmo but charge regular price shipping for the heavy Triton???" THAT MY FRIENDS IS A SCAM. Anyways, he then said ,"I AM the manager". These people are messed up for doing that. But that's beside the point. Im still pissed about how lousy the Fizmo is. Unfortunatly there are no refunds at Musicians Friend. Avoid these people and this "synth".

The Fizmo: Being an objective person I was able to look at the Fizmo in a different way because I did not purchase it, I borrowed it from a person that I employ at my software company. I have been in the entertainment business since 1970 . Although music was never my full time job (it was acting) I have always had played instruments of some sorts. I borrowed the Fizmo and took it home for 3 nights. All I can say is .....I am not impressed. The sounds: 1 word...BORING . The controls: 1 word ....CONFUSING. The Quality: 1 word .....CHEAP. The fun factor: 1 word .... FUN????? The Future of the Fizmo : 1 word...FUTURE????

That being said, I can't see how anybody could actually enjoy this. I really wanted to like this and I read the manual front and back but it was just not worth it. Im glad I didn't buy it.

Yes, I too bought Fizmo and had it imported here from NYC. I thought it was utterly daft from the amount I paid to get it here. Definitely not worth even the sale price. Those sounds are so poor in quality that they will never work in any mix. My dj friends said that the sounds each sounded the all the same and that they contain digital mistakes missed by the programmers. If you use the mod wheel and listen to the rather drab samples you can hear where they cut off and have HORRIBLE clicks. This is totally unusable. Any want mine? I would actually pay someone to take it off me hands. This synth is not worth even 100 francs. I have a feeling that these will not even sell even at a sale price. Once people explore these they will find out that there is nothing worse than getting ripped off after buying a crappy keyboard. My daughter heard me playing it and she ran in my room and said "that sounds terrible Daddy". I have to concurr. And she loves the sound of my Rolands and Moogs. This thing is going back in the box.

I think a big problem people have with the fizmo, like peter asher is they got the rackmount version, the actual keyboard rocks and its huge, heavy too you could kill someone with it. I played the rackmount and true it blows, but the 61 key keybaord rocks, it seriuosly is worth every penny, and ive owned probly a good 100 keyboards in my time, and work at a synth store, this keyboard is the new wave, if used right and not by people who want instant gratification, you do need talent to use this keyboard, and if you dont like the presets change them, factory presets usually blow on any synth. peace out.
