just got 1 for $700 i just think its great kinda reminded me af a waldorf i foooled arond with but i didn,t have $3000 to throw around most cheap synths seem to be subractive but this 1 is very additive it seems could use a better interface and knobs could be farther appart therefor i only give it a 4 star

It is odd to me that some people absolutely hate this thing. Right out of the box I was having more fun than I have had in awhile. Bleeps and Whistles? If you get used to the architecture you soon find that it is not only a strict FX keyboard but a quite versitile Synth. As always the effects given from Ensoniq are wonderful. The only reason I don't give it 5 out of 5 is my dislike for l.e.d. displays. I LOVE MY FIZ!

its the david bowie in the box! :-)

youll either love or hate this unit.if you need something that gives you a perfect 303 emulation or that perfect "jump"-synth brass, forget it. this one is best for the weird stuff, totally unusual sounds, strangely "alive". while the general sound may always be a question of taste, the effects are not.the ensoniq effects are still among the best effects on the market, and the fizmo is no exception.if you dont like the synth, just use it as an effect box :-)

best used for trance, electro, triphop or jungle. not too good for synthbass lines (though it can do it if you know how to deal with transwaves),but the perfect box for hooklines from outer space.

dont use it for eurodance...
