Played about 300 jobs on the MR-61. Always looking for new ideas. Sure would like a Steel Guitar sound with volume in the right direction or Theremin. Is this possible? Looks like we're out of chips.

Rodney Gipson a professional user from USA writes:
As with the previous two reviews, I am extremley happy with the MR61. I also own a Kurzweil K2vxs which I use mainly for finishing touches such electric guitars, orchestral instruments etc because I found that the MR covers at least 90% of the sounds I need. i've compared the MR pianos and electric pianos side by side with the Kurz, and I must admit that most sounds on the MR are much fuller than the Kurz, and I've been using kurzweil's for quite a while.

You can create new songs with complete mixes so fast on this thing. The songbuilder works flawlesly. I've had no trouble at all controlling my other modules from this board when using the sequencer. Patch changes to external modules and keyboards works quite well. It is very nice to be able to turn on one instrument, plug in some good headphones and create!

I use Digital Performer If I need a big production with lots of synth tracks and if I'm using more that two or three MIDI instruments. I simply convert the MR sequences to standard MIDI files, load in to Performer and reasign tracks where neccassary. And the sequencer track buttons and song editor-there's nothing else that even comes close to it except the Synclavier button panel. Other workstations actually have better internal sequencers but by the time you do all that button pushin' you stand the chance of losing inspiration.

The MR should be the standard for any new products with the classification "workstation"

John B from NY, NY U.S.A writes:
There are just so many sounds on this thing. I've had for 3 weeks and have yet to hear them all. Something like 1,500 sounds. The sounds are fantastic and so realistic that I've had people ask me if I have Hammond's or other vintage gear. Just like the previous review, I too am using this synthesizer alone to make tracks. It's ideal for any style of music and is real deep. This is a producers secret weapon. 10 out fo 5.

Id a professional user from Chicago, U.S.A writes:
This is one of the best boards I have used. After looking around for a controller/synth/big sound library board, I decided on the MR61 and have never been disappointed since. Everyone's got the Triton or Trinity so I opted for something different. As of right now I am 90% finished with my Ambient/Experimental Album which is being done solely on this board alone. Save yourself $1000 bucks and get this instead of those played out korgs. Everyone and their momma's have those. This is a unique synth with it's own warm character. I'll never sell mine, unless I get 2.
