I really enjoyed the SD-1 keyboard I bought back in the '90s. It gave me a boost of ideas I cannot forget. Unfortunately it is down now for more than a year. I've been playing a piano all this time, but it could not a match the diversity of sounds and features I had on SD-1. I wish I could continue my perfection with SD-1.

So guys, if you have or know where to get a motherboard for SD-1, please let me know.

Blackjack a professional user from USA writes:
I've had my SD1 for about seven years or more and find it to be one of the best, if not THE best, synth/sequencers ever made. Certainly the best one Ensoniq ever made. Most of the sounds are better than the biggies and the sequencer is a real wonder. I've never had a problem and don't hear the hiss that others have heard. I've sequenced over two hundred pieces of music, all the way from New Age, Symphonic, Classic Rock, to Country and use the pop stuff in a live solo act and people think it's studio recordings of live musicians. If I can ever find another one in good condition I will buy it in a heartbeat. Does anyone out there know of an SD1 users group anywhere? I would love to be able to swap info. I give it a ten!!!

I have used the sd1 for a number of years both as a workstation in the home and as a live keyboard in a rockband 'Nightgames'and I think it is wonderful. Its got all the up front quality of sound that you need to get keyboards across in a live band situation and great for the home studio. My only problen is, where can I get hold of a new backup battery as mine is about to expire. Can anyone help please.
