I have used the TS12 since 94 and a couple of months ago a couple of keys broke, i dont know if this has happend to anyone else but ive playd a lot on it and it has been out on tour a lot, and one way around the world. It has been a good workstation and ive played most styles of music. The sounds kick ass and you can load ASR-EPS samples also. The only bad thing is the weight(Its very heavy.

I have used my TS-12 exclusively since 1994. For 3 years I used it soley as a gigging instrument, using some tricks to get it to split/layer to 12 zones on the keyboard in sequence mode (as opposed to the very live-limiting 3 in preset mode). I hate the 32-polyphony, the extremely heavy weight, and the thing is a durable as an egg. I love everything else, which puts me in a quandry...do they even make anything like that anymore...I NEED the minimum 12-zones because I cover a lot of parts in my live play...not to mention it's great user-friendliness. Do I repair this board (it's very travel-weary and needs it's THIRD pair of legs) or is there something in 2001 with these features I need plus more?

I couldn't resist it - saw it in the yellow ads this friday - got it for $750. The biggest keyboard I've ever owned so far (yeah, the TS-12 it is). Really cool to be able to load the EPS 16 + samples I've already got. Great sequencer. Great sound quality. Awesome keys. Yeah, it lacks some neat features like resonant filters, 64 (or more) voices, bla bla bla... but it HAS a lot to offer, and for the used price I got it for, I can't really complain about anything. It's already becoming my major axe, and I've got a few. This one only needs power-on, no loads, no waits, just CREATE. A great thing to sketch out ideas with. I'd recommend it to anyone.

CHARLES JONES a professional user from US writes:
THESE ARE MY HONEST OPINIONS ABOUT THE TS 12. I USED THE SYNTH ON THREE PROFESSIONAL ALBUMS. VERY COOL SYNTH FOR PORTABLE USE.IT HAS ITS GOOD THINGS AND ITS BAD THINGS.SOME OF THE BAD THINGS ABOUT IT IS ITS HEAVY AS HELL, ONLY 12 MIDI CHANNELS TO WORK WITH, AND ONLY 12 TRACKS TO SEQUENCE WITH IN SEQUENCE MODE.SONG MODE OFFERS AN ADDITIONAL 12 TRACKS.THE LACK OF ANALOG SOUNDS ,BUT HAS 8 MEGABYTES TO READ ASR AND EPS SAMPLES THAT OFFER ANALOG SAMPLES AND PATCHES.SOME FILTERS THAT A PERFECT KEYBOARD NEEDS TO BE A ULTIMATE SYNTH IS NOT IN TH 12.LETS GET TO THE GOOD STUFF ABOUT THE TS12. VERY SEXY PAD SOUNDS, GOOD PIANO SOUNDS,GOOD USEABLE DRUM SOUNDS, AND A VERY POWERFUL SEQUENCER THAT HOLDS ITS WEIGHT COMPARED TO ANY COMPUTER. VERY GREAT FOR BEING A STAND ALONE WORKSTATION WITH OUT HAVING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF JUNK TO HAVE A FULL STUDIO.THE TS 12 IS MY MASTER KEYBOARD IN MY STUDIO B ROOM. I COULDNT HAVE FOUND A BETTER SYNTH. AS FAR AS THE THINGS THAT ARE NOT SO GOOD IN THE TS12 OR THE TS10, NO KEYBOARD WILL EVER BE COMPLETLY PERFECT. IF SO MUSIC STORES WILL NOT MAKE MONEY ANYMORE. HA HA HA
