I've had my ASR-10 for 11 years, and I recently looked for an alternative in order to replace it to a newer, better? sampler or synth like the motif of the fantom, BUT I've come to realize that my ASR-10 has the best brass sampling sound compare to even huge soft synths samples. In other words I've not come across a better instrument yet that can match my ASR-10, so I've now decided to stick with hopefully for 10 more years. I play only live and use it with a SCSI harddrive which I've used as long as my ASR, so I need to look for a storage replacement pronto.
I've never had any problems with my sampler (touch on wood), what a quality instrument!!!!

Hello I wondering if anyone could give me insite to a problem I am experiencing with my ASR 10 rack sampler. I have had this guy for over 10 years and have done some terrific work with it, but the past year or so I notice that LCD numbers and functions edits start to scrol by themselves with out me touching the panel, making editi ng very frustraing. I have dicconented from MIDI as well as other power source and changed the power strips etc, but that does not seem to help. Could it be a sofeware problem. ALSO does the ASR 10 need a cleaning somehow? ANy ideas would be most aprreciatted guys Thanks A Fifth Column jnapol@verizon.net

I got my ASR 10 about 6months ago. GREATEST machine ever! I have a SP12 and MPC2k but this keyboard is just WOW! I plugged it up and started sampling! The only thing is I only have 2mb ram :( . So if anyone has the full 16 they wanna sell CHEAP please let me know. Also, I am having some trouble spliting up my samples on the keys but you know.
GREAT MACHINE

I'm a full time Producer (Dance, House, Jazz-house, RnB) I bought into Ensoniq (TS-10, ASR-10, MRack, etc.) in 1995...that's 11 years ago, and I still use all 3 of these in my studio. They are simply still good enough to stay. The ASR-10 in particular still holds up against most of my soft samplers as well as other hardware I have accumulated over the years. Rich sounds, clearly defined, with great effects and wave processing...very editable. These old campaigners are staying, along with my Yamaha NS10M's I guess?

I Own three of these boards, and they are the most in depth board you will ever own. If you don't own one and have a chance to buy one do it. I have had mine for 10 years now and it works as good now as the day I bought it. I have 2 for parts because you can't get parts for them anymore, but Thesoniq.com can still fix em. So if yours is broke contact him now-he works miricles on ensoniq products.
