This is a fairly dope sampling workastation. All I have to say is that this is the one that qbert of the skratch piklz uses for studio production work (coinciding with the decks and the mixer) That is, he chooses this over the sp1200 and the MPC's and the ASR's. That says something for it.

WHY Ensoniq EPS page has information about EPS 16+? Even if those machines have quite similar names, there is more difference between EPS & EPS16+ than EPS16+ and ASR-10. incredible. what more could i say?

EPS lacks entire effectprosessor, and is 12bit sampler. EPS 16+ has same prosessor which is in ASR-10, and is 16 bit. And both EPS16+ and ASR-10 effects are 24-bit. (Someone said in his review that ASR-10 has thin 16-bit reverb)

Wow, a damn nice instrument to use. I have mine for about 3 months and I'm using it quite extensively! Even as a stand alone thing (with sequencer and the right smaples) it is able to produce pretty good basic songs! Along with other instruments it is working well. At the moment I have the 2X expander, which is very limiting. The 4x expander is about to be bought, but is very expensive (about a third of price of the complete apparatus!)

I bought my EPS new in 88. I has never broke down and has never been in the shop. I use it all day and all night and have been for years. I have all original manuals and data that came with it. If anyone is having tech problems with theirs. It is probably because it wasn't babied. I cover mine after every use to keep dust and moisture away. The only problem I had is with corrupted floppies. I have the 4x expander. I find the polyphony a bit limiting. It is one of my most favorite instruments. Damn easy to understand and use. I wish I could find more sample disk around. There use to be a lot more third party sounds around. Oh well, If anyone knows of any. Give me a holler.
