The Fairlight CMI is the most historically significant electronic musical instrument
of all time. It is interesting to note that most people are too stupid to know that.
Everything that exists in the electronic music marketplace today was stolen
from the CMI. Unfortunately, I only have two of them. I wish I could afford more.

The Fairlight CMI Series IIX certainly is an outstanding instrument. i have one in immaculate condition for sale if any enthusiasts are interested.

The series IIx is so much fun to work with, that I can't help feeling some newer manufacturers should look at it's operating system! It also sounds gorgeous, and fat. It is the best.
I also have a series I and that sounds nearly as gorgeous. Anyone who finds a series I should pick it up. it'll be cheap, and who needs midi when you can sync up to tape via a tone, and program on page R (yep, my series I has page R too)
