WOW ! - what a synth !!!

I am a professional producer and am use to synths like the KorgM1, X5D, Roland XP-30 , and JV synths...

The Equinox fits in with these synths perfect !

I dont use the sequencer at all ( who does these days ? )

The sounds : - - -

Massive , huge strings ! and some very nice solo strings not to mention analouge synth strings.

The piano sounds are nice , but not as good as a 700mb sample set of a piano, backed with some nice strings the pian stands out well and is very usable.

The bass sounds are really good ! Really deep and throbing. Use the Arpegiator and your away !

Synth sounds are OK, but nothing amazing, but the pads are much better than any of my korgs.

the only down fall to the equinox is that the sound has not got the sonic quality of the Korgs/ Rolands, but its a great synth.

You can import various sampler sound banks into the unit and it has 2mb of backed up ram.

I would say that this synth is a mix between a Roland D50, Korg Wave station with a bit of a roland JV feel..

Really glad I got this synth..

It had a drawbar organ section too ! This is fantastic. Sounds as good as my Nativeinstruments B4 !

Built like a tanks, really sturdy and strong.

I am using this as my master midi keyboard now.

Go on - get yourself a Gem !!!

I agree - OS sucks. I have 88 keys version and it's superb (Fatar heavy-wighted) for 2700z³ (about more than 900$) this synth it's really worted.

I have used most every work station out there. this one is the best so far even over Roland. Not so user friendly but much more powerful. It also has more editing capabilities for new sounds. Not the same old crap. I did not get a manual with mine but was still able to figure it out rather quickly. Think this ones a keeper. Especially fot the 400.00 bucks I paid for it.

I never new anything about GM until I joined a top tropical group in Peru. They had a SX3 and recently bought an Equinox. I began with the programming of the synth and I discovered that the sound has power and does not not seem to be another synth from USA or Japan.Inside the synth there were a lot of sounds that I had heard only in European productions.The programming section is very versatile with parameters all around but with intuitive aproach.The only drawback in the Equinox is the poor multitimbral implementation, the synth refuses to be used by an external sequencer, it has too many glitches, but with the internal sequencer the sounds are OK. I have changed the OS, but the fail remains. Another problem with the Equinox is the poor signal noise ratio, the synth is noisy and we have to use noise gates live and recording at 196K in Pro Tools is another story. But the Equinox is very fine and comparing with SX3 it retains some of the sound an the performance If you have a SX3 for sale..

O EQUINOX 7.6 que possuo e´o melhor sinth no mercado atualmente pelos excelentes timbres que possui e a facilidade operacional.O unico problema é que não encontro timbre/patche novos na internet e nem sample tambem.Se alguem souber quem tem timbres novos e tambem sistema operacional enviar emaill. acadiano.2004@bol.com.br Ficarei muito agradecido
