Well, I just picked one up from a car-boot sale for ten pounds. It has hideous signal-noise ratio on the output, but does show some potential. I got some really nice bass blips and thuds from it tonite. I would love a circuit diagram if anybody can scan or photocopy one for me, I need to do something about that lame filter, and bearing in mind what it is, and the price I paid for it, I have no reservations whatsoever about pulling apart and screwing around with the innards. Anybody got any constructive ideas ???

To all the guys that are putting this little synth down : Go pester synths your own size ! Go fuck a Pro-One or something. No need to ridicule this synth ! If you go have a look on the price / quality, this synth will beat all monosynths out there. For a few bucks you can get good bass and lead sounds. Actually I like the SX1000 for its bass potential. It may not have many possibilities to route this to that, but it sure can make a bass boom ! Trust me, I gigged with it and almost blew up the speakersystem one time ! Guys, if you see one for like less money, go and buy the thing and tweek around with it. Again, trust me, I own a multitude of synths (20+). And if I wasn't happy with th SX1000, I would have sold it. Only thing about it is that the coloroured stickers on the knobs are frequently missing. But, what the hell, you won't miss them !

I Bought this thing once with an ARP OMNI2 and a Wurlitzer Tube Piano for Hfl. 500 (Which is 250$) so i guess I am lucky. Then, years later, I bought a Korg MS-10 for which I didn´t have the money. I was thinking of selling my sx1000. But i didn´t. The sounds, the caracter of this cheap synthie are different. Tlking about noise: I see that as a caracteristic of this synth. And the EG for filter freq. apart from the Amp. EG is very handy. And i really like the white/pink noise. Try it with a slow LFO on the filter and a little reonance. Ad a stereo echo and you have wonderfull Jarre like winds. Or try to imitate hihats and then sample this. It´s a good machine to vreate new sounds with.
