I used to work solely in buzz! with my first hardware buy though, I switched to hardware, but now that I have a sampler to accompany that hardware, I'm back in buzz-iness. I use it a lot to put filters and fx over samples, and to create loops.
it's simply amazing. all in one.
the only reason that I'm not giving it a 5 is because some of the generators and effects in the standard installation are really bad.

This thing is too good to let it's average rating not be closer to 5. The only reason i even bother with my pile of real synths anymore is because i can't figure out how i'd play live with buzz. yeah, me and a laptop don't cut it.
I'd actually pay for buzz so jeskola would have something for his efforts, but it's free. i can't get vst synths working in cubase, but i can build the biggest synth rig on earth in buzz. buzz will even load all your pirated dx and vst plugins.

I've been using BUZZ for about a year now, and yes: It really is an amazing program! For those of you who don't know this little (free) miracle yet, you should think of it as a mix of: A visual modular synth/tracker/sequencer. The modular synth editor is where you connect synths/fx to each other, the tracker/pattern editor is where you put in youre notes/data and the sequencer, well yes....it stiches it all together...
Cool parts: Since everybody are allowed to make new "machines" for BUZZ there is constantly coming new stuff out for it. --- One guy has made a really cool joystick filter with hooks up a filter to your analog joystick (cutoff=Y Resonance=X)for realtime fun --- Every(EVERY!!!)thing is trackable AND MIDI controller assigable, which can be recorded!!! --- Cool tracker/sampler machines that play Wav. files --- New MIDI-out Machine to program your MIDI gear --- VST Plugin plugin loader (allmost every Vplug works) --- New drum machine creator for creation and exchange og your own drum machines
Bad parts:
It's a hog!! --- The Sound quality is not all that great. --- Needs a lot more realtime control/programming features. --- FX (Reverbs in particular) aren't all that good either. --- No graphic display of waveforms
Even though it has a lot of flaws still (it's only in beta) I´ll give it 10 out og 5 just for the genius design and concept of the program.

Wait for BUZZ2 which apparantly will blow your head(s) off!!!

Yes BUZZ is fucking amazing!! And it's free. I love everything about it... I would marry the damn thing if I could play the synths in real time or sync it to MIDI.
