Well I have the xbase 999 which has pretty much the same analog sounds (kick, snare, and toms) as the 09 plus some more. For the analog sounding kick, snare and toms it does them extremelly well. I also have the Drumatic which is a free VST pluging which is just as good but it sounds too perfect so I prefer the 999. If you're into electronic music production this thing will be a great addition

The only problem with the Jomox XBase is that my Motu 828 can't convert it massively enough!!!

Best Drummachine ever! I think it's better than the 909 personally, Not even worth comparing, different monsters.

This stands alone, and packs a punch with its kick and snares that Mike Tyson would have been proud of in his prime!! Just recently i made a pact with myself whereby i will only by new products that i believe are best at what they can do. They also have to have the potential of becoming very desirable when production ceases. This is a hard thing to judge but i believe this is one of those, a true winner, and will become a classic in years to come!!

the sound is awesome. very punchy. very 808-909 (and BETTER than ReBirth) im quite pleased with that. Rate:5

the construction quality is great. metal body, wood sides, nice milky smooth knobs. its tuff and pretty heavy for its size. Rate:5

it looks great. one of the best looking units ive ever seen. Rate:5

im using O.S. 2.09 im not shure exactly how old that is, or what, but there is a couple things i dont like about it... #1) it takes alot of button pushing to access the Clap, Rim Shot, etc sounds, thats a bit of a pain in the ass... #2) when tweaking the knobs in write mode, they lagg really bad at first and you gotta really twist em around a couple times before they begin to modify the sound... Rate:3

in summary:

good looking tuff built fat punchy sounding drum machine with a couple operating system shortcomings!
