I've just bought two JUNO-106s and I must say that these are PHAT! No matter if you're creating techno or jazz there is a sound in this synth for YOU! Great filters and tweaking ability. WICKED jus WICKED!

Matthew a professional user from Australia writes:
The Juno 106 can sound incredibly HUGE if you take the time to programme the size in. It's capable of some beautiful, thick pads that are truly majestic, and some aggressive, heavy textures that will blow an audience through the back wall if you're using it live. I think it's all in the PWM, just the right amount of filter and sub-oscillator, and of course the yummy chorus. Also, big bass sounds are a definite strong point. In unison mode, mine has a really nasaly, thin sound which can be improved by adding portamento, but this same sound is unbelievable ran through the right distortion box - very unique, arty and heavy all at once. Also, some of the sounds in poly mode are the sonic equivalent of armageddon when ran through the right distortion. Overall the sound is clean, clinical and warm, but can sometimes lack size and dirtiness. Not so good for sizzling lead lines in my humble opinion. I would like to see another LFO for independent pulse width and VCF modulation, and some kind of auto voice detune circuit when unison mode is selected so you can get fatter monophonic sounds. In spite of this, if you take the time to listen and experiment with this synth it will sound gorgeous. Incidentally, I got mine for US$50 - perfect condition!

bladerunner a professional user from England writes:
This machine is a steal if you can get it for less than $500 Us. It is full midi, true analogue and the most stable and bet Roland analogue synth evewr nmade by Roland. In addtion to its incredibly fat sound and features it is built inredibly tough (like most Roland gear). I have probably gigged at over 300 times and never have had a problem. Sell me yours if under $500-email me!
