Markus a professional user from Germany writes:
There are all these people around here who tell you that the JUNO is great for beginners. This is absolutely true. But I cant understand why some people say that you should look elsewhere if you are not a beginner anymore. The JUNO still sounds better than any new synth you can by (aside from the Alesis Andromeda maybe), and that the JUNO is very easy to use is a big advantage for professionals as well as for beginners. I admit that the JUNOs possibilities are limited, but in these times of virtual analogues, vst-instruments and all that stuff, limitations can be very stimulating for your own creativity sometimes.

Juno 106 was the best synth of its time. (poly + midi). But as time goes by, it now seems to be out of date.

-It still remains great to learn how to use a synth. It can be use in a song for its nice dark pad/bass that really rock.

-But no need to say it is overpriced.

It worths a 2/5, if you strictly look at its specification, price and versatility of sounds. It worths a 4/5, if you're stuck in the 80' or if you're a newcomer willing to learn synth.

I got one as my first synth and feel great about it. Now I am looking for something more "accomplished", and try to sell mine.

Juno106 is a good synth but doesn't worth the money it priced.

DJ Bel a professional user from South Africa writes:
I paid approx $105USD for my Juno106. It had 2 of the 80017A chips faulty on it and I was able to fix both by applying some heat to them. Now it seems to be working just fine , and I am now able to make some beautifull pads and basses. This synth is very warm sounding and the difference between it and the Juno60 is very slight, I heard them side by side. If you have a passion for analog synths this one won't dissapoint, but make sure there are no problems with the filter or DCO chips, they are in short supply, Ranger Electronics in Canada still have them $44USD(not cheap for me). Juno sounds fatter than my MS2000!

Keith a hobbyist user from USA writes:
I found a Juno 106 for 150USD at a pawn shop, and it was near mint! This is the perfect 1st synth for beginners. You don't really need to read the manual. Just jump in and play with all the controls. It is much easier to program than the digital hybrids that only have one slider or dial. Hit both the poly buttons at once and stack all six voices up for a monophonic synth that has thundering bass sounds. I think I could actually blow the 15" drivers out of my EV Eliminators if I wanted to. On the down side, as others have mentioned, the chorus is somewhat noisy, but not terrible. To me though the biggist fault is that there is no way to know where a parameter is set on the default patches without moving a slider and then trying to find the place where it sounds the same (or you could use a midi editor, I suppose). My Korg DW-8000 has a separate display for the parameter settings, so you know where the baseline settings are (the Korg, however suffers from the single slider for editing and also doesn't sound as good to me). Also, some of the default patches are weak, but you can quickly fix this with a little editing. I originally bought this board to resale it, but since I have been experimenting with it, I have decided to keep it. It is just too much fun to play with! Definitely one of the better synths from the digital/analog hybrid era. If you can find one for less than 250USD, you would be getting a lot of bang for the buck.

Nate a part-time user from Canuckville writes:
I recently purchased the Juno 106 and I found it instantly warm and friendly. I was able to make great Michael Jackson stlye type basses (THRILLER) and also long acid sweaps and swells. The only problem is, I guess I wrote over those patches and I can't seem to recreate them (I am not the best analog architect, even though I have 4 analog synths, go figure) I am glad I bought this synth, it has character and it records midi data unlike the alpha juno series (awesome underated synth) I don't think I could have produced my last track without it.
