I recently purchased the Juno 106 and I found it instantly warm and friendly. I was able to make great Michael Jackson stlye type basses (THRILLER) and also long acid sweaps and swells. The only problem is, I guess I wrote over those patches and I can't seem to recreate them (I am not the best analog architect, even though I have 4 analog synths, go figure) I am glad I bought this synth, it has character and it records midi data unlike the alpha juno series (awesome underated synth) I don't think I could have produced my last track without it.

I'm not very impressed by the juno 106. I should have bought first when I was looking for my first synth. It's my fourth synth and I was hoping that the Juno could do more.
So, like everyone here says, if you are a beginner and looking for a first synth, try the juno 106. If not, look elsewhere I would say. I've bought it for 200USD with a custom hardshell case. I think the low price only motivated me to make this buy.
I love the chorus on it anyway. The unison mode gives a dipleasing cheesy sound in the high frequency registry.

This keyboard is a charmer, to say the least. Once you use one, you will begin to build all of your songs around it's rich bass and creamy pads, even if only for background ambience. There is always room for a Juno in the mix, no matter what kind of music you do.

This thing is a classic, and I'm glad I got mine for a steal. It's good for beginners, but also a must for the pros... I love the bass it produces, but it is also very good for pads, synth strings and why not leads. Add some metallic distortion to make it scream.
